Make a Fashion Statement with Women’s Shoes
This season shoes and shoe fashion are becoming bolder in everything from design to style even colour and prints. The idea for women this year is to make a fashion statement with their outfits, and these new and bold style shoes are perfect to make that statement. However, there is a flip side to this new bold world, as the danger of going too far is greater than ever, resulting in a big fashion faux pas. The right amount of colour and the right amount of daring design is required to be the envy of the party or occasion. Here are some outfit tips to make just enough of a statement without going overboard:
1. It’s ok to wear red, but don’t go over the top. Accents of red work well, such as a headband, shoes or jewellery. For a night out a pair of red sparkly heels could look great with a simple black dress and modest make up. For daywear, you could also go with a red slip-on or a red athletic shoe just for the fun of it.
2. Wear boots, but don’t wear too extreme boots. You can wear a pair of red boots, but knee-high red-patent leather boots are a little much. Perhaps a red ankle boot would suffice? When opting to wear boots, don’t shy away from their warm comfort, instead embrace it and make it a part of your statement, by wearing something fur lined or fur accented to get across the message that you’re freezing, but are nevertheless trying to rock it in that nice dress and designer tights.
3. Match your casual shoes to the weather. If you don’t wear suede or nubuck the whole rest of the year, the winter is the perfect time to wear it. Besides the fact that those items are much warmer and hold in heat well, they tend to match a winter wardrobe much better than some other styles. For a more preppy look consider wearing a buck or lace-up oxford with some trousers or jeans.
4. Make sure you have clothing that matches the things you wear on your feet. It might seem like a good idea to choose a nice pair of boots for your night out, but you have to have clothes to match. Otherwise, you will succeed only in looking silly.
5. Embrace colour. For the brightest and boldest fashion statements, don’t forget to embrace colour. Classic heels are available in all kinds of great and bright colours, in shades of red, yellow, blue, pink, green and purple. Combined with the right outfit they can draw everyone’s attention making you the star of the night. The rule to combining colourful shoes is the same to combining any colourful accessory with the rest of your outfit. Red and black always go well together, so try a black dress with some red shoes. You can have the same colour running through your outfit with a bolder one for your heels. Blue works well for this, or if you’d like a contrast at the end try bright yellow heels with a light blue dress.
These 5 tips will get you through the bold and daring fashion season without comprising your usual style, as you can make a great and daring fashion statement by just changing your shoes.
