Matching Men’s Jeans with the Right Pair of Shoes

Men who wear jeans (i.e. all men) will often forget to consider the individual details of their style. Jeans are an ideal wardrobe solution when we’re tired, rushed, or simply too lazy to put any commitment into our general appearance. A lot of men think that jeans will go with pretty much anything, which is partially the reason for their popularity on days that require little dressing up.

Sadly, jeans are not always fool proof. There is a huge range of jeans on the market, with each variety requiring a certain style of accessory in order to look good. This does not mean that planning an outfit has to be a chore, however. Learn how to match certain types of jeans with a specific type of shoe and the rest will come naturally.

Thankfully, this is easier than you might imagine. Most jeans can be put into three categories – casual, classic and modern. Each can be paired with a matching style of shoe, meaning that men need only distinguish between respective categories in order to make quick and attractive fashion decisions.

Casual

Casual jeans are great for working outside or lazing around the home. They do not feature a great deal of tailoring, with most types being loosely fitted, straight leg, or boot cut. Faded or bleached colours are also quite common.

These kinds of jeans can be paired with any type of strainer that might be deemed inappropriate for a business setting. Brightly coloured trainers or modern designs such as high tops can be matched with these kinds of jeans. Casual shoes or sandals can also work very well.

Classic

Classic jeans are slightly more upscale and sophisticated than their casual counterparts. They are usually produced from a dark wash and are considered to be a better fit than other types of jeans.

Try and wear shoes that match the style of your jeans in order to refine your look. Black or dark coloured leather loafers are often an ideal counterpart to these kind of jeans.

Modern

Jeans often feature modern and innovative designs reflective of current fashion trends. For instance, you might find a pair of skinny jeans that come with artfully placed patchwork and/or vivid colours.

These types of jeans should be paired with shoes that carry a fresh and contemporary style. They can be word with bold and unique shoes, like a pair of rubber flip flops or patterned high tops.
